WAG matched Cope-Williams’ generous sponsorship of $200 and the worthy recipient was Lynne Munn for her pastel portrait “Man’s Best Friend”. This year six students received a $50 encouragement award thanks to the generous donation of $200 by Newham Garden Club plus $100 from WAG. Les Anderson presented WAG with $300 for the Marguerite Anderson Memorial Award which was shared by Amanda Aish and Beverly Braddy.
Highly Commended recipients were: Pamela Simmons, Wendy Straw, Marian Alexopoulos, Reno Capanna, Lynne Rogers, Patricia Wade and Robyn Leeder.
Our judge, Mary Larnach-Jones spoke highly of the diverse range and quality of works.
Congratulations to all.
40th Anniversary celebrated with a huge renovation!
Victrack have recently replaced the roof of the Woodend Railway Station with beautiful slate tiles brought out from the UK. This lovely old building is once again, the grand old lady of Woodend!
The Woodend Art Group has operated within the old 'Tea Rooms' for 40 years and has been delighted to partner Victrack in an full restoration of these rooms. The ceiling and walls have been repaired and painted and all the floors restumped. What a difference it has made already and it's not yet complete! WAG will take the opportunity to make other changes to our rooms which will make them a highlight in the Macedon Ranges art world.
Once again, we have a full agenda of wonderful Summer Workshops throughout January and into February to attract both our members and non members. See the Workshop page for further information.
